Man I'm still pissed off. I got a text message ad spam over the weekend from a strangers verizon email account. I hate spam. This was the first spam via my cell phone!
But I do like the canned meat called Spam!
Waitaminute, hear me out. I'm on T-Mobile, and I don't have the unlimited text message plan. So I have to pay 15 cents to send and receive text messages. Now for each message I send or receive that's 15 cents from my bank account.
Yea, it's only 15 cents, but check out your yahoo or hotmail email accounts. How many spam messages a day do you get? I get hundreds that automatically go to my spam folder. That's in one day!
Now what if you had to PAY for all that shit? 100 spam message emails a day x 15 cents x 30 days = $450 dollars a month. That's a lot of money! It's all spam crap too. What the hell man.
Now imagine getting that many spam messages on your phone. You're screwed. The thing is, the spammers don't pay nothing! YOU have the burden to pay the bill and call customer service to complain.
So I did some research on the internet and found out that I can go to my T-Mobile account page on their site and turn off messages coming from the web. This doesn't affect messages from other phones, so I still can receive spam from people using cell phones. I guess ATT, Verizon and Sprint have the same options on their websites.
The only way to stop paying for spam ads through your cell phone is to either get the unlimited text message plan or block ALL text messages.
It was only 15 cents, but I'm still pissed that someone is forcefully making me pay for this crap.
OK! OK! OK! Let's get back to some fun stuff - the bikini show that was held at the SpoCom show in Long Beach!
