The rule was no pro camcorders at the Hawaiian Tropic bikini contest

Hey you! You can't take a video of the bikini contest... you two! That's a pro camcorder, no take video! I'll kick you out if I see you take a video with that pro camcorder...! Miss! Miss, can we take video with our cameras? No, not those pro camcorders, the consumer ones are OK. What the hell man.. grumble.... grumble.... grumble...

... and that was the one sided conversation between the photogs and camera guys at the front of the stage with the security and the bikini contest official regarding the rules of taking video.

When it came down to it, no professional video camcorders was allowed! But come on guys. All of us were looking at each other with a what the F#@% kind of look. Hell man, most of the small compact cameras were capable of 720HD and that's good enough for television! I saw a few guys with the new Canon 7D and I thought I saw the new 5D in someones hand, was looking for the GH1! If you don't know, these are the pro cameras that also do hi-def video!

So yea, we were all looking at each other. This is sucks man, do these guys know that most compacts are good enough for YouTube? So yea, we all thought it was bull. Plus, with the merging of DSLR+video, all these no pro camcorder rules are becoming null and void! Organizers will have to ban all cameras if they don't want high-rez videos appearing in the wild.
