Lux5 in Santa Monica thoughts and photo gallery

Been contemplating about the days events since coming back from Lux5 in Santa Monica... If you've been to the Lux5 show on Saturday because of me... screw me, screw me good. Just don't make me squeal like a pig. Oink - oink!

It was different from last year. Yea... Depending on where your interests lay, you either came out liking the event or you came out pretty much disillusioned over the entire day.

This years Lux5's vibe was more of a Hollywood club/networking feel - it was more upscale. Someone told me at the show - "there's a lot of high rollers here."

Yup, well, there was an auction of a 6 million dollar house in Calabasas, a few cars priced at a quarter of a million dollars, and god knows how much those islands were being auctioned for, I wasn't there for those auctions, but it does show you what market the event is targeting - high rollers.

So yea, high rollers. The show has always targeted an upscale crowd, but this year there was less diversity of models like last year where there were a lot of tables where models set up for autograph signing and photos to this year where there was more high end vendors selling real estate and wealth management firms to help you invest those millions in your bank.

The previous year felt more like an import show with tons of models - fashion shows and autograph signings. Did I say tons of fashion shows last year? Yea, it felt like a fashion or bikini show was held every 30 minutes. Compared to this years lack of fashion shows - the models were hot in the two...or was it three shows...? Dunno, it was more disorganized, and man, I know smoke looks cool, but let's clear the smoke from the catwalk and pump up those lights! Yea, I'm being a little twit complaining, but who the hell reads this stuff....?

Rewind - get this. First fashion show, all the photographers get in front of the catwalk. Right, it's going to start in 10 minutes she says! Yea boy! 20 minutes later we're still waiting.... Right! The show finally starts. Camera ready.... here they come!

Ah damn! The models coming out on the catwalk are all dudes! They're all male models! What the hell is going on here? Ah well, at least I can test my camera settings... and that's what I did. Looking around the photogs after the quick fashion show, I see in the other photogs faces... shock... confusion... to "what the hell was that" kind of looks.

Granted there was more luxury this year with the yacht, jet and helicopter parked out front in addition to the high end vehicles. Last years show was more of a tuner crowd with a some high end autos... there was a a Dodge Charger by golly. But that was last year.

Transitions.

Last year was a transition year, and this year seems to be the first step to targeting a more moneyed crowd. Nothing wrong with that, Lux5 has their own road to follow.

So yea, I was looking for something similar to last years event, but I forgot one simple truth - time moves forward, tomorrow is another day, yesterday is history, yada yada yada.

I did get some nice pictures. Ah well, check the pictures I took at the Lux5 event in Santa Monica.

Oh yea, next weeks event is Street Machine Battle in Torrance. Looks good. Strictly JDM. Purehotmodels is a vendor so I'm guessing they're going to have their big booth full of babes, don't quote me on that though. Best thing about the show? It's hella FREE! No tickets!

Buy a new camera or save for rent money?

Man, I was so close to buying another camera body today. Spent hours holding the camera, then leaving to walk around the aisles. Then coming back to check it out. One reason why I was looking was that it was cheap! Plus I really don't like changing the camera lens from using the wide lens to take photos of the vehicles and models to using the telephoto lens for the fashion and bikini shows.

But I figured this is May, not a lot of import shows or your regular car show in Southern California. Next month - June will be a busy month for import shows. If I finally land a job, I'll come back and maybe I'll spring for another camera body.

Checked out the gigantic 65" TVs, man those are slick. I want. Came back... man. Yea it's cheap, but I need the money for rent this month. Shoot.

The devil and the angel in me fought it out for hours until I finally left. So close to buying it. To bad I'm in conservation mode right now. I need a break. A magic break!

Found Cyril Takayama awhile back on youtube. He's a pretty good illusionist on the same level as David Blaine. Guy must get tons of girls with his tricks.

Paranoia and the saving grace of import models

Have you ever thought someone was out to get you? I'm not talking about the freaks who wear tin foils on their heads to cloak their brain waves from government snooping. I'm thinking say....

You're out walking, eating an ice cream cone and your spidey senses starts to ring ring ring! You stop and look behind you. Then your whole body goes numb as if all your emotions fled from their post, and you shrug it off and start walking again, but you sense a heavy gravitas holding you down as if your emotions were hiding under a bunker afraid of the ENEMY.

Sitting down you look around as a watcher. Someone who lost all their feelings to numbness and as an isolate watches people go by. You get this feeling that it doesn't feel right, the world world doesn't feel right. So you search your emotions - Looking for the reason... who's out to get me?

Then out of the blue - the world comes back into focus. The world feels right. You feel light headed, your emotions come back and you move on. Always in the back of the head thinking, what the hell was that?

Was it a bolt of apathy that struck the body? Was it Paranoia or was there something wrong with the world and I was that canary in a coal mine.

Whatever it was, as long the world has import shows and bikini contests with hot models I'm all right. Everyone's all right. The world is all right!

Sunshine Rodriguez and flickr

So I have this flickr account. It's a great place to store your pictures and let a community of folks look at them. What's really cool is that the site tells you how many people have viewed your photo.

Here's the cool part, flickr has groups that focus on anything your mind can imagine, so I'm in groups like hot babes, sexy girls, import models, etc... you have to post your photos to these groups and then you attract visitors to your album.

So I'm looking at some of my photos in my album and man, I have tons of pictures in flickr that I have not posted to any groups. This was early this week. So I find one hot picture of Sunshine Rodriguez. That's one hot looking man eater if I've ever seen one - a hot Filipina woman.... that's all woman... babae!

NOPI sunshine rodriguez asian filipina drifting hot bikini import models June 30 2007

After a few days, this picture got over 4,000 views! If I wait a few more weeks, it looks like a winner, maybe this picture will break the 10,000 views mark.

Here's more photos of her. I just wish NOPI will come back to Southern California and bring her along with the other NOPI chics.

Please?

The NOPI event in Carson was sweet. I went to the Saturday NOPI event and the Sunday NOPI event. Check the pictures out!

Emperor Motorsports Hot damn oh so sexy women!

These aren't women! They're models! Hot sexy models. I gotta remember that. What they lack in props they make up for it in energy... a lot of energy. These girls were bringing in the crowd!

Gotta say thanks to the Emperor Motorsports guys! Thanks dudes! Man, I was in the Philippines a few weeks ago, if I had known I would have visited their shop in Pasig.

Man, models are just hot, hopefully we'll see them again in more import shows coming up. I really do like those skirts their wearing, and their brand on their small little shirts. Yea. Great advertising, hell... if their shirts didn't say Emperor Motorsports on them, I'd forget what they were promoting.

Just like that hot model playing with her guitar all day long at the Hot Import Nights show in Los Angeles. I still don't know what she was promoting... the game, the guitar... I dunno.

YEa babae! Put it out! WAy out! Show what you got...! Haaaaawt!

I couldn't get enough! Double take! Puff out your chest! Yea babay!

This gives me the chills. She has that look. You know that look, that I'm so innocent, please protect me, but I'm also so sexy you could smell the sex ooozing from my pores look. Nice lips... really nice lips...

Hey, how you doing? That's great!
